Our Curriculum Intent
At Iveshead School, we are committed to serving the needs of every student through a broad, balanced, and coherent curriculum. Our mission is to nurture well-educated, well-rounded young adults who are empowered to fulfil their potential.
We don't just teach subjects; we challenge preconceptions, celebrate diversity, and prepare our learners to make a positive, lasting contribution to the world.
Our Curriculum Model
The Ivesdhead curriculum is designed to be comprehensive yet adaptable.
- Key Stage 3 (Years 7-9): Students follow a common foundation, ensuring a wide exposure to different disciplines.
- Key Stage 4 (Years 10-11): Students begin to personalise their journey through guided choices.
- Key Stage 5 (Sixth Form): Learners transition into advanced study, with many choosing to remain within the Iveshead Community.
Key Stage 3: The Foundation (Years 7, 8 & 9)
All students study the following subjects (with bespoke adjustments made for students with EHCPs where necessary).

Key Stage 4: Specialisation (Years 10 & 11)
In KS4, student maintain a strong core of English, Maths, Science, Personal Development, and PE, while selecting three additional subjects. To ensure a robust academic profile, at least once choice must be an "EBAC" subject (French, German, Geography, or History).
Note: Students joining Year 11 in 2026 wil continue to follow the previous curriculum model.

Inclusive Provision: For students who may struggle with a full suite of traditional subjects, our Inclusive Provision department offers targeted support in literacy, numeracy, and alternative qualifications.
Key Stage 5: Advanced Study (Sixth Form)
Most students choose three A-levels, with the opportunity to add an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) or Core Maths.
Alongside their chosen subjects, we provide:
- Dedicated study periods.
- Meaningful work experience opportunities.
- GCSE English and Mathematics resit paths (for those who have not yet achieved a Grade 4).
